Sand Ceremony Sets

Jadw1999, on August 19, 2009 at 11:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

My FH and I would like to do the Sand Ceremony at our wedding instead of the Unity Candle Ceremony. However, most of the sets are kind of pricey. We've only been searching online and not in stores yet. Anyone doing the Sand Ceremony? If so, where can a purchase a Sand Ceremony set for under $40? I've ran across very nice Unity Candle set for like $24-$35 and was hoping to find something in that range for a Sandy Ceremony Set.

They can be kinda expensive. The one that I like is $54 but it's so beautiful. (see it here http://www.sayanythingceramics.com/ceremony-vases.php )

My suggestion to save money would be to go to Big Lots or Target or somewhere like that and just look for a vase you think is pretty and 2 smaller vases to go with it. You can get the sand online or at a craft store. You will save money and have a custom set that no one else has because you chose it your self.

I just got a vase with a topper that holds a candle. We are looking for the side vases now. I know Joanne Fabrics has one but it is in the shape of a heart. I am not a heart person but if you are it is really nice! Sorry I don't remember the price but I can't see it being too expensive.

This is the one I got. $22.95 for the 3 bottles (2 large, 1 small) and then you can get the sand or not through them. I got my sand somewhere else much cheaper. But the bottles are great! And they engrave the big one for you.

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Finding a nice sand ceremony set for between $24 and $35 is not going to be easy, but you do have some time. The one that Jenni is pointing you to is in that price range. I have several on my site that you can look at, if you want to, but they are a little more pricey than that one. I also offer just the single vases. My tech is redesigning our site, so please excuse the mess if you decide to check it out. The link to the sand ceremony items is https://www.grannysbridal.com/Shoppe/pc/viewCategories.asp?pageStyle=h&idcategory=550 Please contact me if you have any questions.

I bought a used jar in the shape of a heart with a cork and then I bought two thick wide bottom vases from the dollar store. In total it cost me $6. I can't understand spending that much money on glass, but that's me.

I got my two side vases from TJ Maxx, then got a really neat one for the main sand holder at Michael's. They all match really nicely, the side ones I paid like $5 for and the middle one was about the same. Nooo way you need to spend $40 on a set! Smiley smile

Exactly! I agree! LOL! The sets are pretty online but I just can't get over the cost. Then with most you have to buy the sand in addition to the sets being pricey on top of paying for shipping. Just a bit too much in my book. I think I'll take a look in some of the local stores for pretty vases to put together a set and then purchase the sand as some of you suggested.

    Thanks everyone for you help!

I went to michaels and bought my vase... it was 13.99 and i had a coupon for 50% off! So I ended up paying $7! I bought the other two small vases at walmart for $4 each.

I haven't bought the sand yet... I'm still searching... but i better get on that I only have 9 days left!!!

Here's this weeks coupon for michaels: http://dealspl.us/michaels-coupons

You can buy everything you need at michaels or ac moore for cheap and they r really nice. they have coupons in the paper all the time for like 50% off. they sell all kinds of different color sand too. my fh and i are also doing the sand ceremony. If you ask me the unity candle is stupid. How can it be an eternal flame if you blow it out! the sand is definitely the way to go! happy hunting

I don't think the unity candle is stupid... it's actually what we're doing.. I'm not trying to be catty.. but some people enjoy the symbolism... same as what the sand symbolizes.. unity, and no longer being a single person but a united front against the world. That's just my take!
