Sandals Grenada vs. Sandals Barbados for Honeymoon?

Mary, on September 11, 2018 at 3:44 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

My fiance and I will be going on our honeymoon directly after our wedding, so late September of 2019. We definitely want to do a Sandals resort, and we are trying to choose one a bit more out of the hurricane belt. It looks like our best options would be Sandals Grenada or Sandals Barbados (or Royal Barbados). Has anyone been to either of these? We can't decide!

If you have, what room type would you recommend?

Hi Mary!!! I personally have never been to either Sandals location, but would love to go to either!. It looks like there's a better all-inclusive option, if that's your cup of tea, in Barbados, but Grenada has more snorkeling and food options.

I would look at sites like TripAdvisor or Fodors to see what other information you can get from reviews before you ultimately make your decision. Smiley smile Good luck!!

    Hi Mary,
I would go with Sandals Barbados - Royal.
I haven’t been to that one but I did book it and had to cancel due to family obligations, however I did do a lot of research on them. Have you ever been to a Sandals resort? They really are amazing and never had bad service or food at any of them
    hope that helps
also just an FYI of your looking for night life and dancing within the resort Barbados is the one or Jamaica - some of them are a little more laid back then others

We did our honeymoon at Sandals Barbados and LOVED it! We did a swim-up suite and it was by far our favorite part of our stay. We actually spent much of our days floating in the lagoon pool and rarely did we ever even see anyone else in it. We preferred the original side compared to the royal side (they are right beside each other so no transport needed) because it is much more developed as far as gardens and trees go. There has also been continued construction on the Royal side. Nothing major, but just know that it is still there. The food and service is by far the best I've ever had at every restaurant.

This was both my husband's and I's first time out of the country as well as at an all inclusive. We are so spoiled to sandals now that we are already planning our next vacation in a few years. We actually decided our next destination will be to St. Lucia, then Grenada (we are addicted, the resort was that amazing!) after that.

So while I don't have any info on Grenada, I HIGHLY recommend Sandals Barbados. Swim up suite in particular.

I love the Sandals resorts and have been to St Lucia twice and I can only imagine their resorts in Grenada and Barbados are amazing. Have you considered that the time of year you want to go is hurricane season in the Caribbean? I’m cerrainly not trying to be negative but it’s a risk and would be a shame to ruin your expectations of a sunny beach honeymoon. Just a thought to consider that’s all. Happy honeymoon planning!
