Sandals Honeymoon Registry???? Yes or no??

Private User, on April 29, 2014 at 11:26 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

We booked our honeymoon with Sandals & I'm super excited!!! I would love to use the honeymoon registry on the sandals website to sign up for excursions, romantic dinners, etc, but I'm apprehensive. Has anyone used the sandals honeymoon registry before? If so, would you do it again?? Please help!!

We did the Sandals registry. I polled a few family and friends to see what their opinion was on using this and they said it is a great idea. They'd rather pay for something we want to do on our honeymoon than give money. We already own a home together so our retail registry is small. I'd say go for it. Which Sandals are you staying at? We are headed to Antigua.

Have you looked into their charges? I just looked it up on their website… So if somebody wanted to buy you something, Sandals will charge a 9.65% service and handling fee at check-out OR they’ll be charge a 7% if they choose to mail a check directly to you which is a little outrageous for your guests. Plus, you’ll only get the money through a resort credit. No thank you. Have you looked into other honeymoon registries like honeyfund, honeymoon wishes or travelersjoy. I did a registry through travelsjoy which guests don’t pay for a service fee, we are charge with it and it’s a 7.5% service fee on the value of gifts. Honeymoon wishes and honeyfund charge guest a 3% service fee at checkout and then the member fee is 7% service fee. With these websites, you can also add personal touches to it and you can transfer the money into your bank account then using it only at the resort.

We're thinking of having a physical registry with The Bay, and also registering with myregistry.com and just putting some of the excursions with sandals on there. That's our next big wedding task, though.

Ladymonk ---what's myregistry.com? Soon-2-b mrs k I've looked into it and I'm more confused than when I started . All the fees, it's crazy. I don't know which one would be best honestly. I don't want our guests or myself to be ripped off!

Have relatives spread the word that all cash gifts will be used toward your honeymoon!! no fees Smiley smile word of mouth is powerful, but make sure your "talkers" are on board with it. My mom was unsure when we told her about our plan to use all monetary gifts toward a down payment on a house, and asked that we make a small registry too...but somehow people are only being told about the very small registry...fail. lol
