Sandals Negril tips, tricks, or advice??

Charlotte T., on December 4, 2011 at 4:58 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

We're honeymooning at Sandals Negril in mid-March and was hoping anyone who's been there could give us some guidance! Never been to Jamaica or a Sandals and haven't a clue. What are the best tours for your buck, what to avoid, what to make sure to do while we're there, etc.

We booked a honeymoon beach-front walkout suite with concierge service for 5 days 4 nights.

Thanks so much in advance!

I have been to negril it is really nice. We didnt stay at Sandals but we stayed at another all inclusive. It was wonderful. I would say take a trip to Rick's Cafe if you get a chance. The cliff jumping is really cool to watch. FH did it but I was too much of a baby to do the full cliff and did the "baby cliff" but it was a good time!

Thanks, Kristen Smiley smile I'll put Rick's Cafe on our to do list. And I'm sure our cliff jumping situation will be very similar to yours... haha

Being from Jamaica, I will say that Negril has the most pristine beaches and is great to get away and be secluded with your honey. However, depending how long you stay in the all-inclusive you will want to book a day trip. There are many to choose from.

Jamaica Tours has a lot of options from the Bob Marley tour to the one in Black River where you go to the Appleton Rum distillery to taste the rum and then enjoy YS Falls.

Negril is beautiful but there is nothing really to do right outside the hotel. There's like one club because people go there for the beach and to relax. So, if you're there longer than 3 days...book an off grounds excursion to break up the monotony. You can do that before you get there so you don't have to worry about anything or you can do it at the hotel. There will be representatives there at the hotel to help you.

Sandals is very nice but to be honest, it's not my favorite. However, if its your first time you will probably love it! Smiley smile Have a great time!!

I've never been to Negril, but I've been to Ochos Rios, and if you can get to Dunns River Falls, it's a "MUST SEE" for sure!
