Sandals St Lucia Grande vs La Toc

Kaitlan, on February 5, 2015 at 12:57 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

Hi! We are both a young couple trying to decide between these two resorts for our honeymoon. I know the Grande has a better beach with more water activites, but what about food and nightlife? Is there one that caters toward young couples? We want a romantic vacation, but we also don't want to be in bed by 10pm every night Smiley smile

Has anyone been to both that can provide a suggestion in terms of clientele at each resort, the food, and nightlife?

Thanks!

Kaitlan

Hi Kaitlan, congratulations on your upcoming wedding & honeymoon. St Lucia is a beautiful island with so much variety. These two resorts are great options on the island!

Sandals La Toc is built into a cliff with beautiful views from the upper part of the resort and easy beach access from the lower part of the resort. Sandals Grande is much flatter with easy beach access from every part of the resort.

Both La Toc & Grande resorts offer nightly entertainment and bars/lounges to grab late night drinks in. Both resorts also offer a variety of dining options that will give you options throughout your honeymoon.

A fun perk of Sandals in St Lucia is the stay at 1 play at 3 exchange program. This program allows you to stay at one of the resorts but enjoy the water sports, beaches, nightlife, and dining at the others. Sandals even includes the transfers between the resorts. These two resorts are located approximately 40 minutes away from each other.

As for clientele, they both attract couples in love, it depends on the week as to who is there, however having been to both resorts I don't think either attract only young couples or only older couples, there is a good mix.

Our favorite suites are located at La Toc on the Bluff as they have stunning views that are unmatched!

This question has come up a few times and I think the girls that are on at present haven't been yet but there are quite a few with weddings this year who are planning on going. I think I like La Toc but I haven't decided for sure and am watching for their post-honeymoon updates. Sorry I can't be more help but that could explain why you haven't gotten an overwhelming response.

Hi Kaitlan, first off a Big Congrats on your engagement. My name is Kelly Burnett, owner and travel expert of Travel by Kelly. I have spent a lot of time personally at both these resorts and send many couples year after year. St Lucia is a super fun, beautiful island with lots to do. Both of the resorts are quite upbeat with nightlife, evening entertainment, bars, they throw a beach party each week at both, I would say you definitely get a really nice mix of age and couples at both. Everyone is so friendly and you always have a chance to meet new people. The watersports are more active over at the Grande because it sits in Rodney Bay and is protected so the water is much calmer it's a more active beach and watersports for sure. It's more about the pool over at La Toc. You can certainly go between them as much as you want, they run a shuttle but it is about a 1/2 hr ride.

Here is a link to the tours offered on the island to check out as well:

The food is honestly great with so many restaurants to choose from, if your a sushi eater you'll love the Soy Sushi bar at La Toc and the Italian restaurants at both are super. you will find that you can get away and time for romance at both, find your own little spot on the beach or in a hammock. The nightlife ambiance takes on a whole new look with tiki torches and firepits. I am happy to answer all your questions, make suggestions and certainly help get prices, it would be my pleasure. Your welcome to check out my storefront.

Good luck with all your wedding planning and remember to have fun! Here are a couple of my own pics from both resorts.

    Love more.....Dream more.....Travel more......Kelly
