Sarasota/Tampa/Clearwater - BYOB Venues

Melanie, on March 1, 2017 at 5:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hi everyone! We're searching for a beautiful and affordable venue in Tampa area that allows BYOB and your own catering. Do you guys have any suggestions? We'd like the venue to be convenient to hotels for guests (I'm from Chicago and many ppl will be flying in). Thank and cheers!

Venue tab is helpful. Have you tried that?

Hi JJ - We want to hire any caterer we want.

Hi Mrs. Seipp - Yes, thanks. No need to be snarky in your response. I'm not local, so I'd like local input. I'd be happy to do that for people who are not from Chicago.

OP, well the vendor tab would have reviews from people that are local, soooo @Seipps advice is actually exactly what you're looking for.

Your guests can fly into Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

In Sarasota, check out South Gate Center (listed here on WW). Can handle 130 people, you can bring in your own liquor and caterer, beautiful venue with glass walls overlooking a creek and old oaks trees dripping with Spanish moss.

I understand there's a venue tab and I obviously already looked at that. Should I have specified that I'm looking for personal recommendations for a venue? Would that be more appropriate?

Thanks for the suggestions otherwise to the other posters.

@Melanie, actually it is not obvious. There have been many users who have had no idea that it existed.

I am just going to rattle off some pretty venues in the area, no idea about catering or BYOB:

    Lido Key Beach Resort

    Sandbar - Anna Maria Island

    The Devyn

    Powel Crosley

    Ringling Museum

    Michaels on East

    The Francis

    Marina Jacks

    Selby Gardens

    Pier 22

I can make a personal recommendation for a photographer, make up artist and hair stylist:

    katelyn prisco photography

    Mary @ Elizabeth Viktoria Salon

    Brides by Kelly Ann

ETA: Weddings by Bobbi, Bobbi is an amazing wedding planner who has been doing weddings in the area for ages.

Additionally every year in August, weddings of sarasota hosts a huge wedding expo at the municipal auditorium. Could be a good opportunity for you to get some good ideas and meet potential vendors.

Sandbar is not BYOB, this is where I'm getting married and am very happy with their in-house catering and beverage plan. Smiley smile also there is a Facebook page for Tampa weddings where you might have better luck asking this question from locals. Any idea what kind of venue you're looking for? Barn, beach, museum?

@JuJuBee Thank you for the recs!

@fsumissa - Thanks for the rec! I checked out MarryMeTampaBay for inspiration as well. We're open to venue types so I will look around! Thx!

Mixon Fruit Farms, South Florida Museum, Palma Sola Botanical gardens are all in Bradenton area and allow you to choose any vendors you would like, inclyding BYOB, although I know Mixon requires you to use their bartender to serve. Some also require specific alcohol liability insurance, especially when BYOB
