My cake is four tiers and will cost $750. I knew walmart sold wedding cakes but just didn't really think about it. But I was in walmart today and I saw that I could get a 3 tier cake and cupcakes for under $200 I was like that's a $550 savings!!!!! But I would have to have someone pick it up. What...

That is an amazing savings. If it were convenient to pick up I would definitely do that instead. I love saving $.

Find the safest driver you know! That's a huge savings and honestly, I've had a lot of professional cakes and they have been no better than a store bought one. Put that $550 toward the honeymoon!

I would totally go for it. Nobody needs to know where you got it, and either a bridesmaid or the MOH or even one of the mothers could go pick it up day of and help set it up.

The savings on a wedding cake from Sam's and Bj's/ Costco are huge and the cake taste good also. However me worrying if our cake would get to the venue safely in one piece would have me so stressed on our wedding day. That is why I choosed a baker and may look into cake insurance. I saw an episode on a reality wedding show the cake made it thur valleys, highways but when the baker walked into the kitchen at the venue the floor was slippery so he went one way and the cake went another.

We're getting our wedding cake from Publix and plan to spend only about $500 for a four or five tier cake!

$750 is way too much. I would entirely do the 3 tier and cupcakes. My cake is like $265 for a 4 tier... I know their are regional prices but come on, $750 is absurd

I would definitely go for the more affordable option as almost $1K on cake sounds like way too much.

Wow, amazing tips on using Walmart for the cake and cupcakes! I will definitely be considering them for mine!

Saving that much would sway any inconvenience of someone having to pick them up for me.

We intend to use Sam's as well! these cakes you shared are beautiful! I am not a sweets person and was willing to skip it entirely but FH wants a cake so that's our compromise! Smiley smile

We saved on our cake by having a smaller 2 tier cake to cut, and then had an additional sheet cake to make up for the servings.

You could do a small cutting cake being 2-3 tiers and a massive 3 layer 2 filling sheet cake. My wedding cake is coming from a professional baker. It's our splurge category. But my cake cost $300 for tiramisu cake. It's going to be 3 tier 4/6/8.
