Save the date wording? fiancé is in the military

Stephanie, on October 5, 2021 at 2:39 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

My fiancé is in the military, I know it's customary to have his rank and branch on the formal invitations but does this apply to the save the dates as well? We are having a very formal, traditional catholic wedding

My fiancé is military and we are also doing a Catholic wedding. He didn’t want any of his military career reflected in the ceremony or day, so we did not use his rank/branch on the invitation. Just giving you another option, you don’t need to include it! But if you both want to, then go for it!

What does your fiance want? If he wants it included then I would. I've seen an invitation or a save the date mention their ranking or anything like that before.

The rank and title is not necessary. What does he want to do?

If he is not wearing his dress blues and there are no other military aspects to the wedding then I would not put rank on even the formal invitations.

My fiance is in the military and we did not include it on our save the dates and are not including it in the invites either. I actually had no idea that this was customary.
