Hello everyone,
We are doing a 20th year vow renewal, next year October....when should I send out "save the date"?

Are you doing a destination vow renewal or will majority of the guests have to travel a significant distance to attend? If so, I would send Save The Dates 8-12 months in advance, so people can start considering their travel plans. If your vow renewal will be local, Save The Dates can be sent 6-8 months in advance.

    Thank you.
Not a destination wedding but it's a good distance away and it is on a Thursday, so I'm thinking to send out early?

Around 8 months in advance would probably be good timing to send them out!

Congratulations on 20 years of marriage. 8 to 10 months is the most I’ve seen in advance! May you have 20 more years!

I would not send too early. Vow renewal or not, the event isn’t a wedding if you’ve already been married for 20 years. An anniversary party, which is essentially what this is, is a lovely and special occasion, but I would not expect too many out of towners to “save the date” very far out or travel to a destination “vow renewal” in the middle of the week with the exception of very close family and friends who I assume will know all about the date. I would probably not send out STDs any earlier than 6 months ahead and invitations earlier than 6 weeks out. I don’t think any earlier will make a difference.

I would not be able to do invites 6 weeks out because I booked a venue that needs head count 2 months out.
    Thanks!

Wow, that’s really crazy. I’ve never heard of a place that required a head count that early, and I’ve dealt with a lot of venues!
