Save the Dates - glossy or matte?

We decided to do a "no photo" save the date postcard, but we can't decide if it should be glossy like postcards usually are? Or should it be matte because there isn't a photo?
Opinions please?

I'm not sure it matters tbh. My only concern is matte does tend to smudge more easily.

I would do matte, I just prefer that look better and it doesn't get fingerprints.

Matte. Gloss may smudge/scratch in the mail if you are doing a postcard.

We went with matte for ours. I just prefer the way it looks!

I’m a matte kinda girl. Even if there was a photo, I’d still go matte. Just think it looks higher quality

We ordered glossy front postcards from Vistaprint, and pretty much all of them had at least a small smudge/smear by the time they got to their recipient. We had a lot of dead space on the front, and the details all on the back, so it ended up ok (and almost natural looking given the background) but it was still disappointing.

Hi! I went with matte, because of the fingerprints. They came out beautifully! We dropped them at the post office yesterday. 😁
