Waste of money unless you have people that don't know you are getting married or coming from afar.

I did save the dates but only because no invites for the wedding were being sent. The wedding invite will be like a flyer or poster for everyone to be able to see and attend

It’s a toss up. They’re necessary for us because over half of our guests are traveling from across the country and I need to make sure they have plenty of time to book flights and accommodations. If your guests are largely local, I don’t think it’s as necessary.

A lot of people have to travel for our wedding so I sent them! Probably not necessary, but I also wanted to make sure people knew who was invited and who was not. There were some issues with my brother's wedding last summer in that area.

Not necessary but we did it anyway. We chose a free template and sent it to our guests. So it wasn't like we spent any money and it surely got the message across.

Not necessary for us, I don't think, We're marrying in his state where his family live anyway. I may invite people from other countries, but IDK yet.

I did save the dates just because I have family out of town and work purposes as well. I loved the ones I did though ❤️

They are necessary for us as we are having a destination wedding and want to make sure our guest know well in advance so they are able to take time off and make their travel arrangements ahead of time.

I think they’re necessary...even if you do an online one.

I did ours using a poster app, screenshot and clipped it. Saved and sent. No name misspellings, misprinted dates, wrong island, etc. We also couldn't find exactly what we were looking for in a "regular" save the date. We got it this way, though.

I think it depends on proximity. Big destination wedding, send them. Small wedding at home, don't. In the middle? How far does your furthest guest have to travel? Far? Send it. Under 2 hours, don't. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Ummmm...I think save the date cards are extremely important. I want to know who exactly is going. Yeah the expenses of the cards are a lot, but I rather pay for that instead of paying for extra seats

I don't think they're necessary, but I do think they're helpful. We only sent out Save the Dates to guests who are our VIPs (as in bridal party and close family members) and out of town guests who would have to travel. We sent out 40 STDs while we'll be sending out 93 invitations for the wedding.

I believe save the dates are an extra yet at times necessary item. For those having a destination wedding or guest who have to travel and plan ahead of time it’s a way to get people thinking and planning ahead for accommodations and such. This one is totally up to the couple!

Save the Dates are necessary, you want to give future guest a heads up when the wedding is so they can make arrangements to be there... I know I love reminders if I have to take time off or book a flight I would like a notice in advanced for any up coming events
