Need to have! We’re having a destination wedding so it’s our way to inform our guests of the date and allow them to book their room ahead of time.

We had a huge group and really wanted people to show up so we did save the dates, otherrwise if not that busy time of year you could probably do with out.

I love love LOVE my save the dates and felt like it was a must have. My formal invitations won’t have the engagement photos and it was a way for the out of town guests to start planning their trips before the formal invitations arrived.

It is nice to let everyone know when it's happening. Personally, we are doing everything digitally to help save money in the end. We are in the future era why spend hundreds of dollars on postage for save the dates and invites when everybody has an email. We are planning on putting the money that we save from doing that all digitally to the wedding. So Save Dates printed out, nice to have but not needed.

I never saw them as a need, just something else to add to a scrapbook. But we're having a "destination" wedding. It's in our state, but it's about an hours drive (at least) from anybody, so everyone's referring to it as a destination wedding. Plus, I have a lot of family from out of state, so save the dates are a need for us. We are almost half way into our 19 month engagement, so having that much time makes save the dates seem like a good idea Smiley heart

Need to have; we have many out-of-state guests, and we're having a longer engagement. We also have four weddings including our own next year, so it seems like it's going to be a big year for weddings. It's a lot to remember for us, never mind everyone else.

Nice to have. I love getting them, but I don't think they're required.

Nice to have. We skipped and just sent the invites early as I feel the extra paper is a waste on the environment and $$

Having a smaller wedding we know who we want to invite and who we don’t. I don’t think they’re needed, because it is an extra cost that, could go to more drinks ☺️

This is a "need to have" for me. I think it is important to give a heads up to people for their planning purposes especially with destination weddings, wedding dates that fall on popular times of the year, or for those with children and will need to travel.

Need to have. I have a lot of family out of state and they will help give plenty of notice to plan, if they are coming.
We didn't do engagement pictures or a party so for us, save the dates are more practical.

For us, need to have. We have quite a few out of state family members that we would love to have, so save the dates help ensure proper time for them to plan if they choose to attend 😊
