All of my family is out of state. And not all of them are digitally connected. For this reason STDs are a need for us. We need to give people flying in ample time to save if they’re coming.

One of the reasons I’m sending them out is because although my family members are local... they often take trips to the Philippines, Italy and Spain during the summer. I’m sure they plan these well in advance so if they know my wedding is at the end of June, maybe they won’t have to reschedule flights.

You’re not behind at all ! I just had to do them so soon because I’m in medical school and can’t do any wedding planning during the semesters. So I’m doing my wedding planning in bulk haha you have plenty of time !

Foe me it was a need to have. I live a good 4 hours from most of my family and wanted them to have plenty of time with planning for Doctors appointments and things!

Need to have if a lot of guests will be traveling! 2/3 of our guest list is coming from out of town so this was a big need for us, and many people were able to book travel very early, way before our actual invites went out. Definitely not necessary if everyone is mostly local.

Nice to have. I think send them if: you're wedding is more than a year after your engagement. you're expecting a lot of people from out-of-town or if you're doing a destination wedding.

I would personally say need to have. I have a huge family and most of them are from out of town.

I think it’s a “nice to have” but I personally just want another excuse to send out cute pics of us and remind people I’m getting married 😉😂 I know their an extra cost, but I can’t imagine not sending them!

Need to have* Especially if you need people to travel or take some time off

    * Be careful of cultures, my family and friends did not understand this concept so it was almost not necessary for me to send them the Save the Dates.
