Save the dates pictures out of season

Amanda, on September 23, 2019 at 5:19 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
We got engaged this summer, so we set up engagement pictures for this fall. I noticed most people put engagement photos on their save the dates. However, we're not getting married until April 2021, so we weren't going to send out save the dates until April of 2020 at the earliest. Will it be weird to have fall themed pictures on a card being sent out in April? Which would be better, sending out STD super early (this fall), or sending them out in spring/summer with fall pictures on them?

You can choose which ever picture you like- some couples choose one from previous events or celebrations. Personally, we got engaged in the fall and had our e-pics done in the summer for a winter wedding. No one cared in the end.

I think it's totally fine! If I got a cute save the date, I wouldn't care if the picture was in fall but we got it in spring! Smiley smile

I honestly don't think anyone pays too much attention to details like that. If you want to have your shoot in the fall, go for it. I wouldn't send the save the dates out too early though because I just feel like they're more likely to get trashed/forgotten that way. It's honestly up to you and your taste! We're personally trying to match the season to the best of our ability just because that's what works with our schedules.

I think it's totally fine! We got our engagement pictures taken this summer & sent out STDs this summer, but our wedding is in the winter. Our pictures don't match the time of year we're getting married. Smiley smile

I’m in the exact same boat!! Engaged In August, engagement shoot in November and our wedding is 4/2/21. The way I’m looking at it is, some people use just regular photos and don’t do an engagement shoot and they look just fine.
