Save the dates too late??

I mean they still have 6 months to save the date. In my opinion, no it's not too late at all.

It's not too late to send STDs, but you could always just email your family and give them a heads up. Otherwise, invitations should go out by mid-March.

We were only engaged ~6 months and didn't do STDs. Just a waste of paper and money in my opinion. I would just spread the word to family and friends who are invited when you talk to them, or via text or email. You could also do an E-vite type STD if you wanted something a little more specific than an email.

Joy or App-y Couple would be a way to do those electronically and save money that would have been spent on paper STDs.

They are sent 6-12 months before the wedding as soon as the venue is booked (and guest list is set in stone before you look for venues). They are sent to all invited guests. They are followed up automatically at 6-8 weeks on the dot with the invitations.
