Save the Dates, Yes or No?

Lauren, on May 8, 2022 at 4:53 PM Posted in Planning 7 7
So we very lately decided to get married this Oct. 22nd. We have all vendors dialed in. Is it to late to send save the dates? Thoughts/Ideas much appreciated.

Also postcard save the dates thoughts?

Ideally they are sent via phone call or word of mouth which costs nothing at 6 months minimum. But you can definitely call everyone asap to let them know to reserve the date so they can save money to make travel arrangements and schedule time off work.

Postcards are fine. A phone call is cost effective but a magnet is less likely to get lost than a postcard will. But don’t spend any more money than you absolutely need because the expenses do add up.

I did postcards it was easy to do. You still have time to send them out if you would like or as the lovely said above me make a phone call. But it’s entirely up to you if you plan on sending out postcards do it now or by end of this month especially if your in the U.S as they have been having some problems with deliveries. Good luck much love and many blessings to you

I did postcards ordered from Zazzle and they were perfect. A lot of our friends put them on their fridge.

I meant to add, you should still have time to send them out if you choose to send physical Save The Dates. 5 months is still a good amount of notice. Sending out physical STDs helped us get our addresses all in order for the formal invitations. We also figured out how long a delay to expect from when things are mailed to when they are received.

I think you're fine to send them out if you want to. Postcards are the cheapest route and totally fine. I think we have our fridge covered in save the dates, some are magnets, some are paper. I think it was helpful to have our wedding website set up first so we could put the link there and everyone could find it if they wanted more info.
