Well i never heard of save the dates until a few years ago. I always thought telling people was the save the date lol. But my wedding is really small so everyone knows. I did make my own through this website for free. I sent those to walmart and had those printed out. But i only did those for the parents as a memory. But the rest, i sent through text and it was no issue. I'm also trying to save so any little bit helps a lot.

Handcrafted but they came out nice. We did them ourselves and printed them on 28lb paper at staples for $46. We printed 2 per sheet, 75 sheets (150 total). My aunt and I cut and pasted them onto linen cardstock that a friend gave me. I bought the envelopes at Hobby lobby with the 40% coupon and paid $19 and bought heart stickers on sale to seal the envelopes for $5. In total we paid $60 for 150 save the dates. It came out to roughly $.40 per Save the Date, which is about $.40 cheaper than any place I looked including the envelopes and they are one of kind and came out really nice.

I see your wedding is on a Sunday so I definitely would so guests are aware if they need to take time off from work. I also think it depends on how formal your wedding if digital would make sense. If you are having a really laid back wedding digital would be fine, but if not I would send a physical copy. I would also worry if people would actually see a digital copy or even remember they received it because emails or messages are a lot easier to over look than receiving something in the mail.

We literally just sent a nice photo of us in the body of an email that said “save the date!” and our wedding date/location. 100% free, and everyone was informed about the date!

If any of your guests will be traveling, you should send a save the date. Everyone in my family and all of my friends will be traveling from way out of state, so we have sent a save the date as a courtesy to start saving and planning their travels.

Also, who wouldn't want to have their picture up on everyone's fridge?! Smiley winking

We did magnets from Vistaprint for a pretty reasonable price. We decided to send these out because we have a lot of family coming from out of state and out of town so they would have enough time to plan.
