Save the Dates

Shelby, on September 5, 2021 at 5:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Due to Covid making the cards and trying to finalize a guest list. Our save the dates are taking MUCH longer than expected. Is sending them out 2 months before the wedding too late? My mom is against them and kept dragging her feet so that didn’t help, we already made the magnets and I’m about to order the photo card to go with but is it worth it?

I’m getting married in November, roughly two months away and the suggested time to send out invitations is Around September 18th, so it might seem like a lot of people are getting a save the date just to get an invitation a week or two later ☹️

I’m getting married in November as well. That’s my only problem is people getting a save the date then a week later their invite 🤦🏼‍♀️

If they’re already made you can send them. But I’d just be cautious about ordering anything additional to go with it since it might be too late to send them depending on the time it takes to be made and ship.

I’m 11.13.21! Congratulations fellow November bride!

I wouldn't send them I feel like it would be a waste because they would be getting the invitations immediately after since you send them 6-8 weeks in advance

Invites are sent 2 months before the wedding. Just call everyone up now and share the info.

At two months out, you should be sending invites, not save-the-dates. I would call or email everyone now and give them a phone number or link where they can RSVP.

I agree that 2 months before is really tight. I'd check with your venue when they require final numbers by, and use this as a guide. For example, ours requires final numbers 6 weeks before our date, which means our RSVP deadline should be at least 7 weeks before the day, if not 8 to give us time to call anyone who hasn't responded.

Yeah I would skip them. That’s when invites should be going out. I’d be very confused to get both at the same time. It seems a little silly but I think you’d risk having people think your wedding isn’t until next year
