Save the dates

Darrian, on April 5, 2023 at 12:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
I’m preparing to send out my save the dates soon and was wondering is it necessary to do digital addressing or just write the names on the envelopes myself ?

That's a personal preference. I hand wrote my addresses for save the dates and plan on hand writing them for the invitations as well.

Do what works for you. In our social circle, save the dates are verbal in person or over the phone. Most have never received a magnet or postcard before as that is a new trend. We did magnets that we sent to those who were not able to see locally or that we didn’t have phone numbers for. We just hand addressed them because they are more casual than an invitation and we didn’t want to have them be accidentally thrown out as junk mail.

I agree with that, I was thinking when some people see the digital addressed invitation in the mail they’d suspect it as junk mail. Thanks for your input !

When I make a spreadsheet, I expect to use it fully. The companies I used for Save the Dates and Invitations offered a spreadsheet template, and didn't charge extra for printing. My return address, card size, and personal stamp choice signaled it was not bulk mail.

Plus some email services automatically filter anything that is not from someone you regularly talk to and it could get lost in the spam folder. Also, many junk mail advertisements that you get in the physical mailbox are designed to look like carbon copies of formal invites, complete with just a return address with no name on the back as is standard procedure or no return address at all.

I had my printed. It takes much longer to hand write them plus I don't have the best handwriting. I don't agree that they would think it is junk mail if the your names and address are listed as the return address.
