Save the Dates

Margouettha, on January 8, 2021 at 7:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 16
So my fiancé and I are planning on sending out our save the dates by the end of this month for our July wedding. Does anyone know of a site or places in NY where they can make the save the dates and send them out to the guests for you? Where you can provide the name and addresses?

There are probably services on Etsy who will print and address them. I had labels made for mine and they asked for a spreadsheet of everyone's addresses.

Labels sound like a great idea too. But that takes time and with my work schedule it’s kind of difficult. But I’ll consider this idea too

Minted will make your STDs and address all the envelopes for you, but you have to apply the stamps and drop them in the mail.

We purchased our save the dates from VistaPrint and then bought separate envelopes from Basic Invite because I wanted the addresses printed directly on the envelopes because both of our handwriting is terrible. They sell save the dates too, but I already had our save the dates ordered when I came across Basic Invite. Like Jasmine said, I had to fill out a spreadsheet with everyone's addresses. However, I just looked at their website and they have a link you can send to guests to fill out. We didn't use this option because I must not have realized it existed, but also had everyone's address at that point. I did just test it out and it will automatically add the person's address to your address book on Basic Invite so you won't have to fill out the spreadsheet yourself. You will still have to send the link to your guests, but I think that would be easier and quicker than filling out the spreadsheet. You could also ask your fiancé to send the link to his family and friends. You would still have to mail the save the dates out yourself, but that's honestly the easy part. As long as you know how much they weight all you'd have to do is put a stamp on them and put them in the mail. You don't have time to do this then ask your fiancé to help or a friend or family member.

We did ours through Minted because they have free recipient addressing. You do have to put the stamps on them and mail them out yourself though. I haven't heard of a company that will address them, stamp them, AND mail them out for you in one go. I've always come across ones that do everything except provide stamps and mail them.

Same here. I think there’s likely an issue with accountability if the company were to mail them out- if people don’t receive them, where is the proof they were mailed? What if they get returned undeliverable or insufficient postage? What if there is an error on the STDs or invitations, which could have been caught had the couple received them and proofed them? Just seems like too many things that could go wrong

Shutterfly and Minted will print the names and addresses for you. Shutterfly will also stamp them for you, but you are still responsible for mailing them yourself.

I'm pretty sure minted can do that. May be some conditions though

You can look into electronic save the dates. Check Postable or Paperless Post. I think Paperless Post also has a print version but you'd have to check to see if they'd still mail it out for you.

This would work if you had everyone's email. But it's not in your face like a magnet.

No company will stamp and mail them for you but you can order cards/magnets through Etsy, Zazzle, Vistaprint

We used Minted for our save the dates because we loved the design options and the free recipient addressing was icing on the cake. The quality was fantastic too!

This is very true! I think Minted might be the way to go. Stamping envelopes and sending them sounds way better than writing all of the addresses also. Thanks!
