We did cards a year in advance. In hindsight, that was probably too soon. People who asked still asked us the date all the time. Sometimes they still ask us even though it's only a month away 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I recommend not doing it too soon or else they will forget.

Your Save The Dates turned out great!

My fiance and I sent out Save The Dates around 7 months before our original date. We postponed due to COVID, and then sent out Change The Dates 6 months before our new date. We also did magnets! Our Save The Dates were wooden magnets, and our Change The Dates were one of our engagement photos printed on a card.

We sent ours out between 6-7 months out and the invitations to follow about 2-3 months out.

That’s what I fear. With our wedding being 10 months away. But I also got magnets so hopefully they will put them on the fridge

We sent ours out a year before. Our guest list is very small and I know 90% of the guest list won’t forget when we’re getting married and since it’s 4 hours away from where we live I wanted to give people enough of a heads up. We’ve already had family get hotel rooms

We had 2 iterations of save the date. Pre save the date a year in advance, actual save the date 9 months in advance and invitations 2 months. Our list had been stable only 8 people have declined. The wedding is next month.

The first one was a save the date google form that ask them to identify if they were coming to wedding, reception or both. Everyone picked both it hasn’t. Hanged much. In fact it’s increased by 150

We sent Save The Dates 8 months in advance because we kept reading about the Post-COVID Wedding Boom and how you should send out everything earlier in case your guests have multiple people in their lives with the same wedding dates. We were trying to keep the budget down so my mom did cards through Shutterfly.

Invitations went out just under 3 months before the day and RSVPs were due today. It's definitely a good idea to bake in extra time with the postal service being super slow and for young people behavior. Most only check their mailbox once a week or every two weeks. And no, I'm not kidding. I've had multiple conversations with friends where they asked us "When/what time is your wedding again?" and when I politely asked whether their invitation had been delivered, they were like "Oh sorry! I don't check my mailbox very often!".

I sent it 2 months after getting engaged and 7 months prior to the wedding. I sent a text or email because I didn’t want to spend money on printing. Hopefully everyone got it. It’s a small list anyway. Will be sending invitations soon since most people are flying in.

That’s definitely true. I don’t check my mail but every 3-4 days so I know that’s true. I never thought about that. Great advice thank you.

We sent ours out eight months ahead of time and used postcards of the destination we were getting married at.

I wanted to do a magnet but it was too expensive Smiley sad I honestly sent mine out 10 months in advance because our entire guest list is from out of state. Alaska, Nevada, California.. so I wanted to give people plenty of time

We're sending ours out a year in advance because it's a destination wedding.
