I sent out vintage styled post cards with your usual save the date info on it. I actually just sent them out last week for my November wedding. We have quite a few guests from out of town who definitely plan on attending our wedding so I wanted to give them a good bit of notice. 6-7 months in advance is appropriate.

Where did you end up buying your magnets without spending a ton of money?

We sent ours out around 7 months before the wedding. The front has "Save The Date" across the top, a picture of us, the wedding date, and the city/ state. The back has an October calendar grid with a heart on our date, "formal invitation to follow," and the link to our wedding website. I didn't particularly want to send formal save the dates, but considering we've been engaged for 2 years now (thanks Covid 🙄) and most of our guests are from out of state, it seemed like a necessary evil.

Thanks! We thought it might make it easier for everyone to remember where we are getting married if it’s a postcard from where we are getting married. This way if it’s thrown away it wasn’t a big loss, the postcards were really cheap like maybe a dollar and a quarter apiece. So it was something fun to do. I had them printed at a local print shop with the information on them and had my cousin make address labels so it was pretty simple.

I got them from Simply to Empress. I actually was able to find a coupon to go with the sale and they became like 0.57 each

We did ours 6 months before in postcard form. Don’t worry, I think people will always ask the date because they don’t pay attention! Lll Save the Dates 1
