Say a prayer for my dad please.

As many of you know my father is in very poor health. It is sorta a long story but I will try to give a short version here for those that do not know. He had to have neck surgery when I was really little. Well back then the surgery was still pretty risky and he cut a nerve in his neck. (thankfully he can still walk). But it did make it where any activity whatsoever caused his neck to swell completely shut. The dr's decided to put him on steroids (not the buff you up ones I think) to keep him from dying (at the cost of his bones looking like swiss cheese btw) eventually they put a tracheotomy permanently. Well he just had sugery for cancer (he has had 27 in my lifetime… we keep track) and got really sick with pneumonia while recovering. Today he called and told me that the dr. said he is aspirating from the tracheotomy and since he WILL die with out the trach he has to have one of 2 really bad surgeries where he either will end up not talking or not eating Cont

    (they are sealing it off so he will not aspriate. I am not sure I explained it right I had 2 people run it by me but I am not sure of technical stuff… All I know is that my dad is SERIOUSLY considering not doing anything because both options royally suck but if he does nothing he WILL die and my dad said to me that he was just tired of all the surgeries and always feeling bad …. I know its his choice and I can’t imagine being in his shoes but I finally am having a real relationship with him after all the years and now he said he thinks after the wedding he will just take out his tracheotomy and let God do what he will.

    I'm so sorry to hear that about your Dad. I can't imagine what you or your family are going through right now. I will definitely keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

    Sass :-( At times like these I really don't know what to say. So all I will say is that I (we) are all here for you and your father will be in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I am sending out good out into the world in hopes that it makes it to him. much love....

    Oh sas... this is very sad news honey.. i'm sorry this is happening to him and to you and your family. my father is also in poor health and i feel like everytime we talk on the phone there will be some more bad news... i know its hard.. all i can say is that i will say a prayer for you and your dad..you guys will be in my thoughts. xoxo

    Thanks Aimee and yeah some days I don't want to answer bc I know I will not hear anything good. I will be praying for your dad too. I just get mad bc I am the only kid to little to remember him healthy and somedays I really hate my brother and sister for getting to know that part of him. Its not right but I do.

    Honey your story brought me to tears! i really hope from the bottom of my heart that your family finds piece through all this.. i cant say i even know how you or your family feels because i have never dealt with such heartache and physical pain, i can however pray for you and your dad,,,and believe me i WILL pray.

    Sass, I'm so incredibly sorry. I know that there really is nothing someone can say right now to fix anything. Your father surely sounds loved. I will be keeping you all in my prayers. I don't just say things merely to sound nice--I mean it! If you need ANYTHING let us know. We may be in different places, but can always help. I hope you both find peace.
