Scam??

bridetobe2017, on January 21, 2017 at 6:39 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

So I went to a bridal show today and entered in to win a free honeymoon, I got a call saying I won and that all I need to do is go to this cooking show and I'll get a 3 day 2 night vacay in the city of my choosing from the list of cities they offer and a 300 dollar restaurant gift card to a restaurant of my choice. They told me to check out their website at www.mdrhp.com, has anyone else won this before or is it to good to be true?

Don't do it. I did it with my previous wedding. They show you cookware and how to use it. Then they give you a voucher for a vacation, but it only covers certain things.

Yeah it will probably be "free" but you have to pay all sorts of fees

Yeah I'm not going to do it, we are planning on going on a honey moon a few hours away from our house for the weekend and I wasn't that fond of being that far away from our children anyways. Thank you all!!

Got the same call yesterday, through international hostess. Told me I won wedding bands, a paid trip and champagne flutes. My fiancé even said it's a scam and when I researched it I found out it is. They sell your info and offer all these "free" things when it's not true Smiley sad

There have been a few threads about this topic kicking around here the past few days. It's the wedding planning equivalent of getting conned into a free vacay, only to get pitched relentlessly to buy into a timeshare: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/international-hostess-is-this-scam/103fa23369c40bd5.html

My FH and I did it. Wasn't too bad although the sales people were a little pushy. Received our engraved champagne flutes a couple weeks ago. We have not tried to book the mini vacation yet but we will probably next year (they do have an expiration date on them).
