Scared of getting sick before wedding!!!

Ashley, on August 13, 2019 at 5:18 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15
I am getting married 02/01/2020 and my biggest fear is getting sick before the wedding! I don’t have a very strong immune system due to some chronic health issues (I eat clean, sleep enough and take care of my body). I get sick a lot in the fall/winter usually around the holidays. My bridal shower is the weekend before Christmas Dec 22nd. My bachelorette weekend is the weekend after Christmas Dec 27-29. Our wedding is Feb 1. I need to be healthy for our wedding! Is anyone else out there stressed about getting sick before theirs?! I know I can’t be the only one.

Wedding date twin and bridal shower date twin🤣🤣 not a ton of advice other than start taking vitamin c tablets a few weeks out. I always do that before big trips or events and it’s always worked for me!!

I have problems with my immune system and nothing helps. I was extremely sick before my wedding but adrenaline kept me going the day of so I didn’t even notice and had a wonderful day. I tried everything under the sun to feel better before as well.

I'm getting married in February too..and I'm also worried about being sick. Hopefully if I do it's nothing stomach bug like or too mucousy.

I have an autoimmune disease and worry about getting sick at all times of the year 🙄. I’ve been taking probiotics for about six months and feel that they’ve really helped! Definitely get plenty of sleep and get a flu shot if you can!

Zinc!!! Zicam works wonders for me. I have the worst immune system, not even due to any underlying conditions just pure bad luck. I always am sick from November to March. I also take Alegra D and flo nase when I am sick, it cuts my colds in half. I go from 3 weeks sick to only a week. If your worried about stomach bugs, avoid shopping carts and make sure you wash your hands everytime you go out.

    Vitamin c?
Maybe start several things now like a new workout routine and meditating. And never underestimate the importance of washing your hands. 20 seconds of scrubbing every time!!

Sambucol elderberry syrup is GREAT for the immune system. start taking it every day before cold/flu seasons and it helps keep you from getting sick. If you do get sick, just increase the dose and it helps kick it out much quicker.

I got a bad head cold the day before my wedding and it was worse the day of my wedding. I had a sore throat, stuffy nose, and a headache. I had to take Advil throughout the day and keep throat lozenges with me. However, my adrenaline and happiness kept me from even thinking about being sick that day and it didn't even faze me.

I was really worried towards the last month or so. Everyone in my office was getting sick, and the last time my husband and I got ill we passed it back and forth for a month!

Above and beyond what you're doing, remember that Airbourne is your friend! Make sure you're keeping great hygiene practices and minimizing contact with people who are sick. Also, stock up on any OTC meds that work well for you. We had plenty of alka seltzer and Gatorade in the house.

That being said, I did not get sick ahead of it. Instead, I physically crashed right after the wedding. I think I was just too stubborn.

I was stressed for sure. I neurotically disinfected my phone & desk several times a week, washed my hands quite a few times a day, washed our pillow cases daily, full sheets weekly, vacuumed every few days, and cleaned our bathroom pretty often!

I've heard people recently swearing by Elderberry as an immune booster. You can find it in a drug store by all the other vitamins. Can't hurt to take something extra just to be on the safe side!

At times when there is a high risk of getting sick, you need to drink something for the immune system. But if you suddenly fell ill (((Then immediately start taking antiviral pills. Beforehand, it is better to consult a doctor

I would find a good vitamin/supplement routine that you can start now! Vitamin C is always a good one to keep around and/or freshly squeezed juices!
