Scary story time! Have you ever lost your ring?!

MsRiahToMrsP, on March 17, 2017 at 4:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 28

FH and I saw a movie about 3 months ago before I had my ring resized to fit me appropriately. After the movie ended I went to the restroom and washed my hands, then dried off my hands with paper towel. I walked out of the bathroom and realized I didn't have my ring on anymore! Wth! I knew I didn't flush it! I remember having it on while I washed my hands!! My heart was pounding!!!

This super nice lady working at the theatre picked through that trash for me and found my gem at the bottom of the bag. I nearly had a heart attack!!! LOL needless to say I'm way more careful now and my ring fits me.

When have you lost or misplaced your bling? I want to hear your stories!

Oh no! I would have been panicking! What a generous person willing to look through the trash for you.

I have not lost my ring but I have not had it resized yet (losing weight). Before I purchased these plastic ring size adjusters it was always sliding up and down my finger which was no good.

With my job I am constantly washing my hands. My ring is opal and can't have harsh soaps on it. So I was taking it off all the time. One day I left it by the sink. Realized it an hour later and my heart just sank. Thankfully someone saw it and held on to it for me. Since then, I wear a 'fake' ring to work.

I'm so paranoid of losing my ring, I mean it's the most expensive piece of jewelry I've ever owned.

So I got in my FHs truck and my ring was gone, I started screaming and freaking out, I get out start looking in the drive way, it was on my other hand! Idr ever moving it but I wear a ring on my other hand too and it was on the same finger. I felt so stupid but omg my heart like stopped

Yes. I was at work and I went to the bathroom, when I got back to my desk I put lotion on and when I went to put my ring back on I noticed it wasn't where I had thought I set it. I went back to the bathroom and retraced my steps like 5 different times. My supervisor was helping me look and I even looked through the trash. We couldn't find it. I finally called my FH, crying, after like 45 minuets and he came right over. He found it in less than 2 minuets..... On my desk there are two stacks of flimsy cutting boards that have two cut out handles near the top, the one on top is open and the one on bottom is not. What happened is my ring fell into the handles on the first stack and even though both my supervisor and I lifted the cutting boards to see if it fell through, we forgot only the top was open and didn't think to just lift up the top package....

He makes fun of me a lot for that, but made me promise to not take my ring off at when I am not home and I quickly agreed!!!

Oh no!!! Mine is insured. He proposed on 12/23 on 12/26 we were at the insurance office. Bahahaha. It's my worst fear. I still don't wear it 24/7 and I'm so in love with it.

I lost my E ring about two hours before the wedding. Our photographer had borrowed it multiple times for certain pictures and kept giving it back. Then I cleaned it. Then she photographed it with something else. Then it somehow got misplaced. I couldn't keep up with the constant back and forth. I was getting dressed. We finally found it on the bathroom counter under a hand towel. I had laid it there myself, but forgot. Too much on my mind. But we were freaking out. We had called the photographer, the best man (thinking she had given it to him with the band after photos), and asked him not to tell my husband it was missing.

So relieved we found it. My husband would've died!!!

My ring fell down the bathroom sink. I ran out of the bathroom like a little blubbering baby to FH just screaming at him "it went down the drain! It went down the drain! You're going to hate meeee!" Lol he got it out of the sink for me though. I don't think I ever cried over something like that before lol!

I began hyperventilating when I lost mine. I always put it in my jewelry box at night except this one time...I fell asleep in the spare room watching TV, and I remember being so tired and going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and then placing the ring on the desk. The next morning I can't find my ring anywhere. It's not on the desk so I think I may have flushed it in the middle of the night. The ring was uninsured at the time so I freak out so much that fiancee stays home from work so he can look for my ring. He calls me 1 hours later and finds it.......

    IN THE LITTER BOX!

My cat must have thought it was his new toy and decided to hide it. Husband could have easily thrown it away with the litter. I will never leave it anywhere else but in my jewelry box again.

I lost mine right after we got engaged for a few days. I was freaking out and didn't tell my fiancé. I found it inside my container of jewelry cleaning solution.

Oh no! I lost mine after only a few days after being engaged before my ring was resized

FH and I went to universal studios and were putting our stuff in a locker that we couldn't take on the ride. I didn't even think about taking off my ring (even though it was about 2 sizes to big and slid on and off very easily) We got on the ride and I felt my ring slip off while going down the hill of the roller coaster. *Panicking*

Think god It landed on the floor of the cart and I somehow managed to keep my foot on it for the duration of the ride.

I "lost" mine for about a workday recently. I was on a work conference trip and went drinking with my boss and a few coworkers one night. Got drunk, got back to the hotel, put my jewelry away (I don't remember this but this is something I do at home so not unusual) and setup a wake up call. Woke up at 6am, realized I couldn't find my jewelry for 2 hours, panicked but still had to go into our office so I was panicking most of my work day. Around 3 I told my boss I'm freaking out about my ring so left to go back to the hotel and took apart everything I could. Finally found it in a tiny pocket at the very bottom of my luggage (how I repacked my suitcase drunk the night before escapes me). Apparently drunk me knew this pocket existed, sober me did not.

Mine is sized for my right hand (it's my grandmothers ering, I'm using it as a placeholder because I'll be wearing a larger wedding band with a stone once I'm married) ...

Because of this, it's a little loose. I take it off when I shower or wash dishes. If I shower, I put it in the medicine cupboard. When I was dishes I put it in on the shelf we keep our keys.

Yesterday I couldn't find it. Looked in both spots a million times. Searched my bedside table, dressing table, desk.

Eventually I found it. On the key shelf. Where I had looked 5 times.

Haven't lost the ring itself but my diamond did fall out once. This was only a few weeks after we had gotten engaged and I had noticed the ring would get caught on my clothes because the prongs holding the diamond seemed to stick out and I could actually feel the diamond move a bit in the setting. I've never had an engagement ring before so I thought maybe that was normal. But sure enough the diamond fell out and I noticed it was missing about 45 minutes after getting home one night. I panicked and searched the whole house before deciding to search outside even though it was dark. Used a flash light and to found it shimmering in the grass besides my car. Never expected to actually find it but it was such a relief when I did. FH got it fixed shortly after.

I have had nightmares about it. I did lose my mother's ring and I was devastated. I worry about it because it's a little loose but not enough to have it resized.

How scary. I never lost mine but I did have mine stolen. When I first got my ring it took me awhile to get used to wearing it. So I would always forget to put it on before I left the house. In November I came home at night to find my kitchen window broken and sure enough my ring was gone along with a lot of my and my kids belongings. Thank God for insurance. I had everything replaced including my ring.

I've misplaced mine in the apartment a few times but last week was the biggest scare. After going through the trash, the vacuum dust bin, and every possible place I could discover, the next day I discovered it was at my belly dance teacher's house. Apparently I took it off and placed it on the sewing machine just before demonstrating a sword routine I was excited about. Funny thing was I dismissed it being at her place because I recall telling myself not to bring it to class. I guess I put it on anyway before I left?

I haven't lost mine, thank god. But my brother and his wife and kids went out to buy a Christmas tree this past year and my SIL realized later that her ring wasn't on her finger. She flipped. She was bawling. They'd been married 9 years and she had never lost it before. She and my brother went back to Home Depot, where they bought their tree, AND SHE INSTANTLY FOUND IT! It was laying on the concrete where they loaded the tree, completely untouched. And this was hours later. She's lost a lot of weight and hadn't gotten it resized.

My husband lost his and it was a miserable experience. He takes his ring off every night before going to sleep and I must have gotten up early one day and went to start cleaning and in a sleepy daze must have accidentally lumped it in with some junk mail and tossed it out....this is the only explanation I could come up with. Anyways, he tore the entire house apart and we searched outside in the snow just in case.....I called my dad all upset and he told us to check the garbage. I was never so excited to inform him he was right about something.
