Scented candles

Michelle, on January 26, 2019 at 8:43 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

My wedding is on NYE 12/31/19! And I want the whole pace to glow, so I'll be using candles in glass vases of different heights as my centerpieces. I read somewhere that you should put a few scented candles in the vases to give the room a nice smell. I'll probably have 3-4 candles on each table and one of the candles on each table will be scented. I don't want to over power the room. They will all be the same scent. Maybe vanilla? What do you think?

I’m not a fan of them due to my allergies. One wedding I’ve been to, I saw children trying to play with them.

Please don’t do scented candles! That would be overpowering.

Oh for the sake of anyone like me please don't put any scented candles. I would be leaving with a headache before dinner was even started.

Two big issues with scented candles at weddings: some people have allergies or are very sensitive to smells, and the smell of the candles can negatively impact the dining experience as well.

    Stick to unscented!

Yeah unfortunatly I love the idea but I would probubly get an instant migraine from either to strong or too many smells like the food or guests, etc.

I wouldn’t do scented candles. My fiancé is allergic to all l scented smells and starts sneezing none stop the entire time. He would probably be affected for an extra day or two after this. You can run into people like this.

If you do decide to go scented - yankee candle all is bright smells incredible and it’s kinda festive and it’s white so if you’re going for all white candles it would work! You’d just have to get the label off.

Also I think the candle setup is called waterfall candles. I sent my aunt a pic saying we were considering that and she told me what it was called and I was able to find a ton more examples that I hadn’t seen yet when searching it that way.

I actually have a friend that has a soy candle business. I can give you her information if you want it. She started her business because a lot of candles have paraffin and cause allergies so she started making candles with soy and hasn't had any problems. She has assorted scents from strawberry champagne like to vanilla and dessert like scents.

Yes please. Even if we don't use it for the wedding we spend a lot of money at bath and body works on candles
