Scented or unscented?

6-22-19 Mrs.williams, on July 24, 2018 at 7:31 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 45
Would you use a very lightly scented candle with your centerpiece? Or does it have to be unscented?

Scented would be awesome; however, just be take into consideration that some individuals could have allergies or sensitivity to fragrances!

Make them unscented. Even the faintest scents bother some people and no one wants to be smelling a candle as they try and eat dinner.

Unscented. Some people are very sensitive to scents and like pp said it can effect how the food tastes when you are smelling a candle.

I'm having a really hard time finding light blue unscented candles 2.5x2.5 (ish) for cheap. I need about 20-30. I dont really want to spend more then like a dollar or so a piece.

There’s a lot on line. Amazon has a vendor D’Light that has 12 tapers in light blue for $13.99. Just google “blue unscripted candles.”

I have 15 white ones already but I think that a very light blue would look alot better in our Mason jars and give it what slight pop of color it needs.

If you are using the blue lace under the centerpiece, blue candles would be too much. Stick with white candles and use blue twine to tie on the butterflies.

I would but I already have 700 feet of regular jute twine. I have everything just feel like it's so blah. I know simple is good but I think it's to simple.

If you already have 15 white, just stick with white and buy enough for what you need. No sense in spending money on something you already have.

I know but I just feel the white makes it look very blah even with my lace. Fh thought to maybe do the blue in the butterfly but I think it takes away from the rustic-y feel of it.

I think you’re overthinking this and you’re going to end up spending more money than is necessary and than you seem to have. The white candles look fine, the table runner adds enough color, and I would leave the butterflies the way they were.

When you are working on a budget, ask yourself if ANYONE is going to notice or care about your candles being white instead of light blue... they won’t. I have been to 3 weddings in a month and remember zero details of their centerpieces and I left the personalized favors on the table.

Agreed with Sarah, you're overthinking. It looks nice the way it is. In a year, you won't remember or care about the candle color.

That being said, if I do real candles I'm doing vanilla scented. I don't care about "allergies" or scent sensitivities. I want my venue to smell good, not like sweaty drunk people dancing or bbq food. That's just me though. xD

If I sat down at a table with a vanilla scented candle, I’d have to leave. That’s how bad my allergies are. Maybe you know all your guests enough to know no one is like that, but I don’t think people are going to care if your venue smells good.

Not caring about health issues is very irresponsible. If your guests have allergies you certainly should care.

And who wants to eat with sickeningly artificial scents at their table? I’d rather smell ththe food I’m eating than a fake vanilla smell. I’ve never smelled sweaty people at a wedding, so I don’t know what kind of party OP is having
