Sealing a sand ceremony container?

TweedleDeedleDee, on September 17, 2014 at 9:47 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 3

We are planning on incorporating a sand ceremony into our wedding ceremony. However, whether I buy a pre-done kit or buy separate containers, my problem is sealing. so that the sand doesn't mix. Anyone has any ideas that can be done either as part of the ceremony or just after by an usher or member of the family?

Do you think maybe having a modified unity candle ceremony with the mothers from both sides and let them drip the wax over the sand will create a seal so the sand wont mix during transport from the church?

I am open to any ideas!

Hi, Oriental trading sells a kit. From what I've seen on TLC when couples incorporate the sand ceremony it must go all the way to the top. The bottles that are with the kit have a cork cover.

Fill it all the way to the top. Tap the container on table to make the sand settle. Add more sand. When it is sufficiently stuffed, cork it.

But, in the reading I use, the whole purpose of the unity sand is that it blends together and can not be separated -- just like your lives.

I think it was Celia who even suggested turning the bottle on your anniversaries so the sand blends more.

Fill it all the way to the top, use hot glue to keep the cork or top in place. If there's no room, it won't mix.
