Sealing sand ceremony vase

Shirlisa, on September 7, 2012 at 6:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

The sand ceremony vase I bought doesn't have a top to it.....yep, wasn't thinking!!!. How can I "seal" it, so the sand doesn't spill or get messed up when I move it. It's gotta be packed and moved to the reception hall and to home.

Thanks,

Squirl

Hummm, The only thing I can think of would be to maybe tape the crap out of the top of it. Or maybe get a cork to fit in it???

This is one reason we chose a unity candle over a sand ceremony!

I had a couple melt a candle to seal the vase.

I agree with the Reverend. I would think that using wax would work well- especially if it's a wider mouthed container where you can't find a cork.

Ours has a top, but it is just a glass top, no rubber or anything to keep it on. So I ended up using wax to seal the top. As the Reverend mentioned, I don;t see why you could not do this either as part of the ceremony (although it is a little time consuming) or just after so you can transport it.

Wax sounds like an excellent option

Yup, melted wax is effective in sealing a sand ceremony vase.
