Search Groom's name for wedding website

Michelle, on June 17, 2016 at 10:07 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

Hi

Can anyone help me with the following?

When you go to "search for wedding website" on here (when not logged in) you can't search by the groom's name, you HAVE to search by my name.

When you find my name, it then displays as "Michelle's Wedding"

I've been trying for a few weeks to change it, but I can't seem to figure it out

I'd like our guests to be able to search by groom's name and also have it displayed as Michelle & Daniel's wedding

I set up an account for my FH and that made him searchable. I don't know if there's another way.

I actually logged out and searched for our website via FH's name and came up with nothing. When I searched under my name, I got the same results you did. It looks like you can add another person to your profile. I wonder if you add your FH to your profile if it would then allow his name to be searched when looking for your website. Given that I'm so close to our wedding, I opted not to add FH to mine at this point.

@Audrey, Where did you see that you could add another person to the profile? After I read this I did the same thing and then searched to find out how and could not find anything either. I would like to try to add FH to my profile but I can't find where.

    Hey Audrey,

I actually did that this morning -- it doesn't change anything, I was hoping it would. It just looks so selfish when people search and it's "my" wedding, not "our's"

Crystal, if you go to the top right corner where it says your name, go to My Settings, Account Users...

You have to have an account for your FH also!

We set his up on my other email address because he didn't want to get the WW emails!

That just seems silly to have to have another account especially when you can add him as a user under the same account.

If he is added as a user of your account he should be searchable. There is a support article about adding a user to your account if you'd like your partner's name to be searchable (https://support.weddingwire.com/hc/en-us/articles/205672549-Add-A-New-User).

If you've added him already, would you mind if I looked up his name in your account and gave searching it a try for myself? It might help me diagnose the problem.

I agree, it is silly... lol -- He has an account linked to mine, still doesn't work. It should just pop up as "Michelle & Dan's Wedding" w/out even having to make him his own.

    Sigh.

Thanks WWJo, I don't mind, but I don't want to post his name publicly -- any other way?

I won't write it on the forums, I'll just look up what it is in the database so you don't have to post it for me. I'll take a screenshot of what I find and will email it to you. I have a meeting in a few minutes so if you don't hear from me in 5 I will get back in touch right after.

WAIT! I figured it out.... kind of

Ok, when you "Add" the fiance, you have to click "Active."

I did that. Logged out and now I can find the site by his name.

Now I just need to figure out how to change the "Couple's Name" and we're good to go!

It gave me the option to make a custom URL so that when someone puts that into their search bar, the website should come up

If you try searching now it should come up. You had added your FH to the account, which made your website searchable by his name, but his name didn't come up in the title yet because he had not activated his account. We've made it so it should now display for you anyway. Give it a try and please let me know if it is not the way you want.

Really looking for some help. I also tried to get my FH name listed on the 'search' however when i added him as a user, it created a seperate account! Now there is a 'summer's wedding' and a 'jay & summer's wedding'! I just want one listing with both our names! Why is this so difficult!?

So I'm stumped. I added my fiance as a user a few days ago and activated his account. He is listed as an active user under my account. However, when I search for his name it still doesn't bring up our website. Any ideas? This seems like an issue that everyone would have and is complicated to fix.
