Searching for dmv quality budget makeup and hair

Kate, on April 22, 2020 at 11:08 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
Hi all. I’m getting married next year in April. It might be too early to book everything but I’m afraid a lot of couples are postponing their weddings this year to next year. So better book good vendors sooner

I’d like to ask all of your suggestion about a great but reasonable price wedding makeup and hair artist in the DMV area. I actually found it surprising that a lot of the artists/studios have a minimum, which is not the same of where I came from.
While I just want to book the service for myself, I’d like to see if any of you have suggestions about some good artists In the area that provides individual service for the day of.
Thanks everyone in advance.

I don't know the area but try high end salons, they usually have a makeup artists you can hire!

The Wedding Loft in downtown Leesburg offers wedding trials with hair and make up artists. They also offer bouquet classes which is cool.

I second the suggestion to try high end salons. Unfortunately I don’t think many of the HMUAs who do most of their work for weddings would be willing to go on-site (if that’s what you’re looking for) for just one person’s services, but if you are able to go to a salon I bet you’d have a much better shot!
I’m in the DMV also, and every HMUA/company I contacted has a minimum (twelve of us getting services, so not an issue for me, thankfully).

Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll be able to find someone great with this much time!

Thank you so much for this suggestion. I don't mind going to the salon to get the service, but thinking about the differences.

Having a makeup artist, would they do any 2nd makeup in the evening or after the cocktail hour, or they usually just leave after the 1-2 hour of makeup before the start of the event?

Also, as you are also in the DMV, do you have any good suggestions of high-end salons in Bethesda, Maryland area?

    Thank you again!

They typically leave before the event starts. Most of them do have the option of them staying around for touch-ups, but it’s a premium add-on and typically costs hundreds extra.

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with any particular salons in Bethesda, but since it’s an upscale area, I’m sure you will find a number of nice options!

I'm also in the DMV area and not sure there is such a thing as "budget" anything around here! This is why we chose to get married in NC lol

I would check out the high end salons in the area and see if they are offering any specials or if they can recommend any budget friendly yet quality HMUA in the area. I will go out on a limb and let you know they probably will not come to you at a budget price, even in NC we will be paying around $1300 for HMUA to come to our location and do hair and make up for me and just hair for my Bridal party.
