Seashell candy?

Jamie, on July 28, 2011 at 4:41 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

My future mother in law will be making our wedding cake. We're trying to pick everything out for her though... because we're both really picky. We want seashells around the cake, and I have in my mind a candy that my uncle gave me for Christmas once. It was just simple chocolate candy shaped like seashells. I don't remember the name of the brand, though.. and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? And do you know where I could buy it from? (I don't want to order online)

If you can't find the particular candy, what about purchasing a candy mold and making your own chocolates or even fudge or hard candy?! Whie it would be more time consuming, it's a viable plan B.

That's a good idea, Kristyn. I'll probably do that if I can't find the ones I'm looking for.

Thanks Dianne! I'll look into them.

Oh, I think I found the ones I was looking for on Wal-Mart's website:

Hopefully they have them in store.

You might want to try a wedding cake maker. They may be willing to make them and sell them to you. It will be easier than trying to make candy the first time. It is not that easy. Best wished to you!

I know when we were in OBX, all the little tourist/gift shops had seashell candies ... not sure if they have stores online, but worth looking into if you're looking for something specific. Otherwise, I agree that you could just buy a mold you like and experiment with flavors/colors.

I have the seashell candy molds. I bought them online for mint molds, but needed rubber ones for what I'm doing. I still might use the molds for candy. I got them on amazon if you're interested.

My cake had edible shells and starfish, colored themed, made from white chocolate. my colors were, pink, white, black and wine. It is on my profile if you want to check it out. I don't have the photo on this computer or I'd attach it for you.
