Seating Arrangement Help

Crystal, on April 3, 2021 at 2:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
My fiancé and I are getting ready to send out invitations, but I’m dreading making the seating arrangements. We just plan on having guests at specific tables. But how would the seating work parents on both sides of the family? Do I put my parents and brother on one table and fiancé’s parents in a separate table. Or is it more common to put parents and siblings on both sides of the family into one table?

Its more common to split the tables, and that is what we are doing. My parents and FH's parents really only have us in common and they would rather host separate tables with their parents

No one assigns people to specific chairs unless you the single long farmhouse table for 50/100 people. Just assign everyone to a table.

Seat your parents at one table with family/friends and fiance's parents at their own table with family/friends. They can mix and mingle during cocktail hour and after dinner.

I'm seating my family one one side of the hall and my FH's family on the other and friends in the middle areas

It's more common to sit families by table, but if yours are ones who you think would want to sit together, there's certainly nothing to say you can't seat guests how you want.

This is perfect, thanks! I was also debating if I make the family’s in different tables. If I should make their table next to each other or on separate sides with our sweetheart table in the middle

My parents and my husband's parents sat at separate tables. We positioned both of their tables closest to our sweetheart table in the layout

My parents and his parents are inviting more than 30 of their friends combined, so we couldn't just put them at separate tables with their friends. We're putting the 4 parents at a table together and they can each choose a pair of VIP guests to sit with them. Our siblings will be at different tables with people closer to their own age.
