Seating at bridal shower?

What do you think about having assigned tables at a shower? I've never seen it done and I don't really want to bother with it, but my sister is having 30 seats for about 26 people at mine so we just want to make sure everyone gets to sit with someone they know or came with and it doesn't get all split up with 1 open here and 2 there, or should I just not worry about it and people will figure it out?

I was at a bridal shower last summer where seats were assigned and I really appreciated that extra effort because I wasn't sitting next to the bride's random aunt's cousin. There were probably about 25 people at the shower.

Usually I'd say no but you have a lot of people and not many extra seats. It may be worth the effort but won't be a big deal if you skip it.

I agree with PP, it wouldn't be weird or out of line to do assigned seats. I'm sure the guests will appreciate the extra effort you went through to make sure they enjoy the party

Depends on the shower! If it's at a restaurant where you'll be seated in your assigned seat 100% of the time, seating charts are great. But if there's mingling and food is in a buffet and activities are happening, I don't think it's necessary. People will mill about.

I did it only because my FH Has multiple divorces in his family so we needed to separate certain people, I also wanted to make sure my friends who didn't know anyone else were sitting with me!
