Seating Chart Poster Board

Ashlee, on March 22, 2014 at 6:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

My seating chart is done and I've been told that I can have the seating arrangement blown up at Kinkos or something. My only problem is that I can't get it all to fit on one page. I'd like to do it by alphabet so it's easy for people to find their tables but that's almost worse than doing it by table. Maybe I am just not great at formatting crap like this on the computer.

I'm not doing escort cards. The favors that I made are doubling as favors and place cards.

I have 10 tables, just under 100 guests. I've seen a lot on Etsy but I just don't have the time left to pay someone else to do it. Also, I don't want to pay $30 for something I can do myself.

Does anyone have a free template that they are using to create an assigned seating poster? Or any suggestions?

What I plan on doing is typing them up in word by table in a 4x6" size. I'm going to print them, cut them out, and then glue them to a piece of scrapbook paper that's slightly bigger so it looks like it has a border, then glue that to a posterboard. I think it'd be pretty easy to do that way.

    I like ^^^^^.

I am using a picture frame with multiple slots of 4x6 and printing each table out individually. in any open picture slot we are putting a picture from our engagement photo shoot

I do not recommend doing by table. It slows the process down. I have to look at how much to find my table? I prefer escort cards over charts for that reason, but if you do a chart, do it by name,

So people just look at this to see what table they sit at? hm. i think that might cause a high line up of people trying to find their seat. i'm just making place cards that i got at Michaels (they're 5$ for a pack of 48, it shows a website for templates to print on them) and i use a 40% off coupon from their website on my phone to buy them so i got like 150 of them for under 10$. and i can print them at home. and i will put them in order a-z by name with their table number on the card under their name. that way they only have to search for their name and its listed alphabetically which is simple to find.

Yeah, I don't want to do them by table. I just tried it to see if it would fit better but it doesn't.

Maybe I'll do escort cards...I dunno. I'd rather have a big poster sized something with the names listed alphabetically but if it ends up being too much of a hassle I might cave.

Also, I would have it up on an easle on the patio during cocktail hour maybe by the bar or something so that people wouldn't have to wait until they are entering to know where they are sitting. They would have the full hour to figure it out.

What program did you create in? Most microsoft have a fit to page option in printing options.

Or take file to staples/kinkos and they may be able to help you format...
