Seating chart poster or escort cards

We are doing a plated meal, so escort cards are preferred because we can label the cards with each guest's meal preference, which makes service run smoother.

Agree that arranging escort cards in alphabetical order makes things easiest for guests, rather than finding them in a random table arrangement order.

We are going to have a table chart as well, but this will be for reference for the servers only and not on public display. We are using it to highlight guests with any special dietary needs, so the servers can easily look at the chart and see, for example that two people at table six need salads without cheese on them.

Escort cards for all the reasons mentioned above, they seem easier, easy on the pocket and the guest won't forget where they are. I'm planning on keeping a list of the tables just in case someone loses their card. Hopefully, this won't happen, but you never know!
