Seating chart question?

Brianna N, on June 21, 2019 at 10:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

For those who made/ordered seating chart signs, did you hold off until you received your final guest count/list? I am worried I won't have enough time after my RSVP's come in to order one. How did you handle this?

I am DIYing my seating chart for this reason. I have it all put together and will print the table names/assignments once I get all the RSVPs back.

I made a rough draft on excel of everyone i thought would be there and ill edit it and finalize it once all my RSVPs are in. I didn't do exact seats. I'm assigning the people to a table.

That is what I am planning on doing too, I just didn't know the best way to handle it! There are all of these gorgeous ones on Etsy, but they will take time to be delivered, so I guess DIY is probably my best bet!

I'm doubling my favors as a seating chart. So i'm giving out succulents, 1 per family, and it will say what table they are sitting at. I'm just gonna stick like a little note in it with their table number

I started it before, but really finalized it after our RSVP date. I put the people on I knew were going.

I made a tentative one a couple months before the wedding (before most of the RSVPs were back) because I didn't want to be scrambling to do it last minute. It was super helpful for 8 out of our 12 tables. Basically my mom's friends, our families, and our family friends tables were pretty much decided back then and that was so helpful. The 4 tables of my and husband's friends ended up being changed A LOT after we got back the RSVPs. But it was nice that 8 of them pretty much worked out as-is, so we only had to worry about 4 last minute.

I'd say just make a tentative one just to get a general idea of where you want people to sit, but don't spend too much time on it and keep an open mind to make a lot of changes once you have your final list.

Most of the Etsy ones just send you a file in about 24 hours and then you go to a local print store to print it off, so it can be done short notice
