Seating Chart/favors

Cayla, on July 28, 2019 at 12:08 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

I have seen where the table numbers go into the invitations to guests. Has anyone done this?! Was it helpful, easier, complicated, confusing?

Please provide some insight! I am thinking of a less expensive way to do the seating chart/favors.

Wanting to tie them in together somehow. Was thinking of getting simple favors and putting tags on them with names and table numbers. Then thought about providing table numbers in the invites and having favors at the tables.

Help!! Smiley smile

Hmmm, I'm not quite sure I understand how the table numbers would go on the invitation? I could see writing "Mr & Mrs John Smith, table 4" but I could also see Mr & Mrs John Smith forgetting they're table 4 at the wedding. I think it'd be best to still have a seating chart somehow at the wedding. I know I would forget haha.

As for favors, they're not necessary but I've seen people do the glasses with table numbers on them, keys, or wedding stamps.

I agree, I wouldn’t remember between getting the invitation and the actually wedding what table my invitation said and would assume there would still be a seating chart or escort cards. I feel like without one or the other it would essentially be one open seating.

Not to be the Debbie Downer but that might not work for a few reasons.
Say 2 people from Table 6 RSVP yes, but the other 4 are NOs. Table 7 has 4 Yes and 2 now. Wouldn't you want to combine them?

You're going to want to make adjustments as the RSVPs come in.

Also, yeah. No one is going to remember what table they are at.

I would do table assignments at the actual wedding instead, to minimize confusion!

I haven't seen that either. I also didn't do table assignments until I had all my RSVPs so only the Yeses were included. For escort cards, I bought some Avery tent cards on Amazon for $13. I was able to use a free template through their website, and printed them at home. It took like an hour for 115 guests and cost the $13 plus a bit of printer ink. I also triple checked names and such before printing so that added more time.

I agree with this. OP, sorry, but there are many reasons why this won't work. You will need to wait until you get all your RSVPs back so you can plan your seating chart at that time.
