Seating the Wedding Party?

Head table or sweetheart table? I see pluses for both but I have never been in a wedding so not sure what bridal party prefers. None of their SOs are in the wedding party.

I am doing a sweetheart table. I want our wedding party to be able to sit with their SOs and not feel awkward. I have sat at a head table at a wedding I felt very weird.

But is it really just dinner? There’s getting ready in the morning, the ceremony, the pictures after the ceremony and the introductions and then dinner. I really hate when people say it’s just dinner because it’s never just dinner.

You wouldn’t expect to be with your significant other during those times anyways which is why I don’t count them...

I am doing a head table, and I'm placing all SOs/dates at a table right next to the head table. I just can't have 16 people at a head table. Dinner will only be an hour or so, there will be the rest of the night.

We aren't doing a head table because we have 14 people in our bridal party and most will bring +1. We've seat aside tables closest to us for them. I don't think it matters where they all sit, they'll only really be sitting through dinner any way and you want them to be able to enjoy their time as well.
