Second Dress or No Second Dress?

Hey Ladies! I am debating in whether or not I should purchase a second dress for the reception. My wedding dress is a fitted mermaid dress with a dramatic bottom and train. It's comfortable enough for me to move it but I don't want it to get in the way. Are any of you getting or have already...

Thank you so much for your feedback. You ladies are definitely giving me a lot to think about. I've been under so much pressure by everyone else to have a second dress and it's crazy. Everyone wants what THEY want for YOUR special day. Smh

Lol I'm definitely down with the "popping, the locking, and the dropping" Lol. Ypi look great and like you had fun. My ceremony dress is definitely one that I can move in and I am comfortable in it as well. I made sure of that when picking it. Thanks for the feedback my dear. 🤗

My ceremony dress is a ball gown, so I absolutely will be changing once all the professional picture taking is done into something that takes up less room (my reception is at a friend's house so space will be a commodity). I'm trying to keep it affordable and something I could envision wearing to another event, so the second dress will probably be gray or silver.

I definitely want a second dress. We're getting married in the Caribbean so a big fancy dress isn't the most comfy right through the night.

Nope. I have a fitted trumpet dress and I’m wearing it all night. The ceremony will be so short (max of 20 minutes) that it would be useless for me to change out of it that quickly.

I have two dresses but the second one is being worn to the afterparty, not the reception. Big poofy dress for wedding and a tea length dress at the afterparty for drinks and karaoke! Can’t wear a puffy dress to that. Second dress is also being reused as an anniversary dress and will be coming to the honeymoon for fancy first dinner as husband and wife! I’m wearing a little sweater over it to dinner.

I will not be purchasing a second dress. I love my dress so much that I know I will not want to take it off. Plus it’s really comfortable

I want a wedding jumpsuit for the reception but not sure if I will actually get one. I do love my dress and I can move in it so we will see. I say do what you want 😁

I vote go for it! When I did wedding photography I had SO many brides that wished they'd had a reception dress because the dress they chose just wasn't good for dancing and being in it all night. I specifically picked a dress that would be comfy all night while partying on the Vegas strip.

I wont be getting a second dress - my parents paid a lot for my dress so I decided to wear it all night. But i think its about your preference and if you will be comfortable all night in you 1st dress.

I seriously thought of a second dress as well (even did a post to get suggestions) but after thoughtful consideration I decided to stick with just the wedding dress. I will party and probably sleep in it Smiley smile . I still want everyone to see me in my dress and the cost factor for spending a lot of money on a dress to have to take it off and put something else on. I'm sure when I find a dress that I love, I won't want to part with it. But...if you really want to have the second dress, I say do it! It is a wonderful idea and like PP said, its your preference.

I also purchased a fit and flare for my wedding. I decided against getting a second dress just because of how beautiful I feel in my dress. Due to that, I'm sure I'm not going to want to take it off (well... until that night obviously)

I made sure that when picking my wedding dress, it was something I would be comfortable enough to move in. I paid a pretty penny for mine as well and I would hate for that to go to waste. Thanks for the feedback Love.
