I also have a fitted mermaid with a fuller bottom so I went with a reception dress that is more comfortable and easier to dance! Additionally, my reception dress was on clearance and wound up being cheaper (including alterations) than altering my ceremony dress to include a bustle. I'm going to change into my reception dress prior to entering our reception. This way I can ensure I can dance, sit, eat, party and drink red wine with no concerns of ruining my ceremony dress.

I'm a year away from dress shopping, but I know I will have two dresses. I want something I can dance in for my reception.

I feel like second dresses are a waste and unless your dress is very heavy and uncomfortable.

Personally, I’m planning on staying in my dress all night. I’m spending a lot of money in it, I’m going to get good use out of it

Hey Kayla. Yeah I thought of having my dress altered so that I can have it pinned up as well. I love my dress and I do want to keep it on and get my money's worth. Hell, I may even sleep in it Lol.

Aleaj. I found a really cute hi-low that I loved, but at the same time, my main dress is really expensive and I LOVE it and I want to get my money's worth out of wearing that dress.

M.W. I agree. My dress happens to be simple and dramatic at the bottom but not heavy at all and I am very comfortable in it. So ONE dress it is.

Save them coins! Enjoy your primary dress! The time will fly by so fast so unless you're planning on wearing your primary dress again, I would recommend using it for the entire night!!!

Love found me once again (2nd and final go round)! My first wedding involved SO much money being spent that could have been used elsewhere! Now that I'm doing it again, I have a very different perspective! SAVE THEM COINS & ENJOY THE BIGGER PICTURE!

I agree with Samantha! I love my dress so much. I told my FH I never wanted to take it off. I won't be changing into a different dress for the reception.

Channail sis, you are SO RIGHT. I have decided to save them coins and use them for something else or just save it period. I love my primary dress and I can move in well so I'm sure I will be able to bust some moves on the dance floor in it. Lol. Thanks for the reality check. Smiley heart

    Hi Stephanie!

I was thinkin about a second dress but decided to jus change my shoes. Our wedding is on the beach and I'll be wearing barefoot sandals during the ceremony and will change into regular sandals during the reception.

It will come down to your comfort level and the venue in the end.

Love the chucks! I'm sure they'll be super cute and stylish in addition to be comfy.
