Second thoughts

Amber, on January 31, 2020 at 1:29 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my wedding dress and I fall in love with it all over again whenever I put it on BUT..... I'm starting to have second thoughts on my dress. I am starting to wonder if I jumped the gun and didn't really try on every style of dress. My dress is beautiful but I'm just starting to have the "what ifs" 🤷

Has anybody else felt this way???

That's dress FOMO talking! Don't second guess yourself and stop looking at dresses period! Thinking about all the what-ifs will drive you up the wall and rob you of your joy!!

Totally agree!! If you “fall in love” with your dress over and over again, then it doesn’t matter what else is out there. Stop looking at dresses. Because quite frankly, there’s an endless supply of beautiful wedding dresses. So, you’ll forever be caught in the cycle of “what if’s”. Your dress is fine, you love it and everyone will think you look beautiful in it.

Hey! I have felt your way! I got my dress a year out and bought it at the first shop I went to (but it was like dress #10 or whatever). When I put it on I felt like I was going to cry. Then the days and weeks passed and I kept thinking that I didn’t go to as many stores as I needed to...

But when I tried my dress on for my fitting I knew that I made the right choice! As long as you live it every time you put it on- then you made the right choice too! Like PP said- don’t look at other dresses and don’t play the game if what if’s. You will be driving yourself crazy as you plan your wedding if you do that. Good luck!

    Hi Amber,
I think that constantly, I'm getting married next Feb. and I've had my dress for 6 months already, alterations will be 2 months prior to wedding, and at least once a month I see a dress I think is more beautiful than mine, I LOVE LOOKING at the gorgeous gowns! I know I need to stop, but I'm addicted! So no, you're not alone many of us 👰 do it! My dress is a Stella York, style 6979, if you care to see it! Good luck, you'll be a STUNNING bride!

Yes it's normal. I freaking love my dress but just because it's getting closer to the day of I'm starting to second guess it also. My dress is not a wedding gown it's a gown though. But most other brides have very normal wedding gowns so I just wonder should I have went basic also. Buuuut when I really think about it NO I'm daring to be different.

Could be dress envy rather than regret. for me i always loved mine but i'd look at others and think "man THAT is really pretty too..." but then i'd return to mine and really love it. so it could be that even just seeing something else would spark doubts in yours

Yes, it's only natural! I'm extremely indecisive, but I literally bought my DREAM dress that I had been eyeing for months... and STILL wonder if I should have picked another (even though I know it's the perfect one for me). But, I second guess my damn Starbucks order LOL!

I have gone through this many times myself. I had actually ordered a dress, came home and within three days knew I didn't love it. Went to try on more and was able to replace my dress with another. I truly do love my new dress, it's what I want. But, it is a fuller A line that could also be considered ball gown. And one of the things I keep thinking about, is that I didn't try on enough fitted gowns and maybe I wanted something fitted. However, anytime I looked at dresses before buying mine, it was never fitted and always a little more full.
What everyone else is doing is affecting me and making me think that I have a nice figure and could totally rock a fitted gown. But what always does it for me is the fact that it's my wedding, the one day where I can wear what I want. And how many times can someone wear a fuller dress? I can wear plenty of fitted dresses in my life.

I would just say for you, only think about your dress and if it fits your style and your overall look that you want for that day. Stop looking at other styles and just know how you want to look on that day.
