Like many other brides in 2020, we postponed our larger reception and married in a private ceremony on our original wedding date.
We are getting "married" (ie. renewing our vows, having our larger reception) on August 7th, 2021.
I put wedding planning on hold for a while because it had just become too much with trying to navigate around the pandemic and life in general. Now that we're in 2021, I'm trying to get an idea on timing.
We had planned on 90 people but the venue holds 120 if I remember correctly and I believe NJ isn't even open for indoor dining/events right now (please correct me if I'm wrong!). The thought of planning for multiple scenarios makes me cringe and I refuse to do it. If we scale back the wedding, we'll need to rework contracts with our venue and transportation company. I'm thinking 6 months before our date is the probably the time to decide so we can get to work on designing our invites, favors, etc.
How long is everyone waiting before deciding to scale back your already postponed wedding? Postponing again is not an option for us.
