Second wedding-should we register?

Happier The Second Time Around, on January 21, 2018 at 2:10 PM Posted in Registry 0 7
It’s both my fiancé and my second wedding. We’re both in our late 40’s and have everything from living on our own. We honestly don’t need any materialistic items. Should we still register?

I've been married before but my fiance hasn't and we have some old stuff hand me downs or cheap purchases like pots and pans and towels so we registered. It gives people a lit of something to buy you guys. So go dream or register for that thong you've been wanting, you never know! Best wishes!

The registry is up to you. Many will probably still try to gift you something even if it is cash/cards, so be aware of that. A small registry could help them on what you might enjoy even if you don't need anything.

You can if you want. There is no big deal that you have been married before.

A registry can help those guests who insist on buying a physical gift. Most guests will likely give cash.

There's no reason for you to register. I'm not going to.

People are going to want to gift you in celebration of your wedding whether it's your first or second or third, etc. There are some people that just don't like giving monetary gifts and would prefer to give a physical gift. If you have at least a small registry (maybe some upgrades of some pots and pans that are old and worn out, or new sheets because yours are starting to be worn out) it allows people to get you something they know you will like and don't have to try to guess what you'd like or need. I think that second marriages are so much more common now, a lot of the old rules of what you should or shouldn't do in a second wedding no longer apply.
