Secrets-mexico

I've stayed in Secrets before, and it is very nice. I haven't stayed in either of those specifically, but I've heard that Maroma Beach has the best beach out of all of them. Another option to check out is Excellence/Beloved.

We stayed at Secrets de Vine, Cancun for this year’s Valentine’s Day & it was great! Food is good, rooms are nice & the pool & staff are also great! It’s a big hotel, so not really a quiet, secluded experience if that’s what you’re looking for.

I am not sure if it’s the same secrets but my fiancé and I just got back from Riviera Maya at an exclusive all resort and some people as we were leaving were being relocated to our resort because they got to their resort (Secrets) and it was closed and no one told them. Also 7 of our friends including us got sick while we were there from the bacteria in Mexico so really follow the dont eat list when traveling to Mexico!

View Quoted Comment Not yet. We are going to an Excellence in DR later this month for our honeymoon. My parents went to Excellence Riviera Cancun last year and absolutely loved it. This year they went to Beloved, which is their boutique resort, and they've also loved it. They liked it better than the few Secrets properties they've been to. Excellence Playa Mujeres is supposed to be the best one I think.

View Quoted Comment Basically everything lol. Granted, Secrets Maroma Beach is supposed to be steps above the other Secrets, so this is based on a few other Secrets locations in Mexico. They said the food, grounds, and service were better.

We are staying at Secrets Maroma Beach at Riviera Maya in October for our honeymoon. We had family friends that recently went and had nothing but great things to say about this resort.

And with the food and getting sick it could really be anything, they have bacteria down there that foreigners are not immune to so they say don’t drink the tap water, don’t have ice cube because they could be made from the tap water, don’t eat salads or fruits that could have been washed with tap water. Only eat fully cooked and hot foods etc... Or maybe shower water might have gotten in your mouth, like you should only brush your teeth with bottled water and be cautious of street vender food. This is just the caution down in Mexico I found in my research that 30-70% of travelers get sick. But that doesn’t mean you guys will! Mexico has gorgeous beaches and worth going!
(none of us that got sick had the same food... so it really could have been anything. Not all of us even got sick on the same day.)
