Seeking Clever Hashtag!

Ashley, on May 18, 2017 at 4:38 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20

Seeking clever or punny hashtag for a wedding in the far, far future so no rush in the slightest. Cifers (sy-furs) & Blackwell are the names. So far we've come up with "GodBlackwellandMe" in reference to Florida Georgia line's song "unconditionally" & we also have "OnceYouGoBlackwell" in reference to "never going back" ???? Any other clever creations? Thanks in advance!

My FH and I were married before and split because of drugs (long story) but We never had a wedding the first time. Now that he is sober and we are back together our hashtag is #helveytake2

Our girls came up with it.

Despite the fact that I like that FGL song, I didn't get the reference. I do think the second is cute. All in all, people don't really use the hashtag anyway. Try to stick with something easy to remember and type.

In the song they say "God, your mama & me, unconditionally." So say "God, Blackwell & Me" to the tune of the song & you'll get it.

Not many people will use it, and the more unique it is the more likely it is someone will misspell it, meaning you won't see those pictures anyway. People will just tag you in pics.

Lots of people will use it. I love the second one! You'd have to count on your crowd knowing that song for them to get the first one.

I mean I know that FGL song well, but your first hashtag still doesn't make sense at all.

The second isn't much better, as it can be seen as poor "joking" in that it can be perceived to have racial overtones depending on your crowd

    A) this is the Internet. we don't know you, FH, your backgrounds, your futures. We know 0. So why would we be the ones to ask?

    b) have it as a bridal shower game?

    C) IMO, I don't like either of your ideas.

I totally got your hashtag ideas and love them! But the are lengthy.. you should still totally use them even if not for the wedding. What about #blissfulblackwells

    #blackwellsbound

    #blackwellin20

    Good luck!

I think the second one is funny, but they just don't "click" or sound "fun" I would use the hashtag generator on WW Smiley smile

I agree with Vicky, have it as a bridal shower game. Your friends are more likely to come up with a good one. I also suggest a little alcohol. My sister came up with our brilliant one while drunk! his last name is Holloway and mine is Davis

People will definitely use it. This is a know your crowd type of thing and I wish people would stop telling brides hashtags are a waste of time and nobody will use them. I do agree this is a game you could play at a shower or have those that know you and your future spouse help select.

I love alliteration so I always try to think about hashtags that way!

No I know the lyrics, I meant it didn't make sense. I think figuring out a hashtag as a wedding shower game is a great idea... you have people who know you best around you, so they can help you out the best.

I'd definitely go simple. The easier it is to remember the more likely people will use it. We did #FinallyThorns. The joke was that he "finally" proposed after 5 years. Our guests have giggled at it. Hopefully it's funny enough that they remember.

ANYWAY thank you to the people that said they liked the ideas & the ones who suggested new ones, as that's what I was asking for- not criticism on the existing ones. I know the people who will be there & obviously wouldn't use anything that would offend anyone. How do you know I'm not white & my fiancé isn't black? Thanks anyway.

When we announced our 6 month engagement, I briefly played with the idea of #SHESNOTPREGNANT based on the raised eyebrows we kept getting but I wouldn't recommend that Smiley tongue

Off the top of my head, #ciferbwell

I love the #onceyougoblackwell -- people will use them. I know my crowd very well and they will use it.

@Vicki - You didn't need to give your opinion if you're confused as to why this forum would be the place to ask in the first place. This is a website for planning tools, forums, inspiration..seeking help & ideas from people that want to help you. I'm all for constructive criticism, but damn girl, none of that was necessary.

    a) You're right, this IS the internet, you don't need to know me, my background, FH, futures to help me out. You don't know zero, you know the last names & what I'm needing help with. That's all you need to know.

    b) I COULD have it as a bridal shower game, there ya go! Thanks for the good idea, see being encouraging & helpful isn't all that terrible Smiley winking

    c) IMO, you could've simply left "b" in the comment.

Thank to you to everyone else with the advice & the ones who appreciate me attempt at some harmless humor!
