Seeking opinions on spray tans for weddings

Kait, on March 30, 2022 at 2:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4
I’m wanting to get a spray tan on my wedding day to get rid of swimsuit tan lines and such, but I’ve never gotten one before. Suggestions on how many days to get it before the wedding, if I should get a trial spray tan before the wedding day to test it, and any tips or advice?

100% recommend doing a trial run! I got a spray tan for prom, and the day after I looked orange, my bra strap rubbed it off on my shoulders, and it faded before the actual day. Everyone's body chemistry interacts with the product differently, so it's best to see how the tan works with you personally. Also, you might want to loop in your makeup artist (if you're using one) so there's not an issue with shades and colors all working together.

100% you need a trial - not all spray tans are created equally and this will give you an opportunity to decide if you like the spray tan or not so I do suggest you book your trial well in advance of the wedding.

I have only had a handful of spray tans in my life and thankfully I went to a highly recommended salon as was really happy with my trial. I asked for a "light glow" and got exactly that and was told to come in the day before based on what I wanted, though usually you'll be told to come in 1-2 days before the event you are tanning for but that will vary depending on the tan you get.

Be prepared though - some tans take a long time to develop and you won't notice the results until the next day, whereas others are applied heavily to set quickly but are perfect after a shower - just so you know not to be surprised if at the start you are either super light still or very dark!

Im gonna have to do the same thing 🙄 I tan so easily in the summer so unless I’m going around in tube tops constantly I can’t avoid it. I have a farmers tan from just wearing a tshirt while driving in the winter! Im so scared it will ruin my dress though

I would do a trial run with the spray tan first. That way you know how it looks like your skin and how it looks in pictures.
