I just got engaged 2 weeks ago. I have a pretty good idea of what I want but it's going and trying on I'm not excited about! If I felt confident in ordering one online I would. Obviously I am going to try an loose a size or 2 but in reality I don't want added stress of buying a dress too small and then not fitting in it the day of. My fiancé loves me and thinks I'm beautiful in anything so it's just finding what I love! Going to a bridal shop who has a selection of plus size gowns is key. I'm a size 26-28 normally. Any help or suggestions of where to look first???

I had the same exact feeling and we are almost the same size. I literally got I'll thinking about dress shopping until I found Curvaceous Couture in Columbia MD. I haven't decided on a dress yet but I'm learning towards this one. It's about 1500. It would be worth the drive. They only sell plus size. Once you go a huge weight will be lifted. I thought I needed to lose weight just to try on dresses. Not the case. I guarantee you will feel absolutely beautiful just like you ARE! And relieved. Lol

Honestly don't be afraid to go out there and try some dresses on! I am always very self-aware and very self-conscious of how I look. I would just recommend researching the bridal shop before you go there I know a lot of people love David's bridal but I had a very terrible experience there were the girl that was working actually told me that I look fat and a lot of the dresses. And I went to Kleinfeldt's in the city and that was even worse there was a sample dress that I was trying on and I told the lady that it wasn't going to fit in my arm was gonna break it it had long sleeves she kept trying to pull the sleeves up and put the dress on me. I spent have that session crying. But then I found a Nother dress shop closer to me with an amazing lady. So if anybody lives in the Hudson Valley area I highly highly highly recommend Lady Grey in Beacon. All sorts of sizes and dresses. My best friend got married two years ago and use the shop as well and she is a 22 I believe but amazing lady definitely made has made both of us feel beautiful. So to me it's more of in the shop that you go to and less about the dresses if you have a good person they will put you in dresses that look amazing on you

I had the same worries, but every bridal store I went to was very helpful and had dresses that fit.

I want to lose weight too, but I also don't want the stress of doing that and possibly not fitting in the dress.

I recommend making sure the place has dresses that you can try on, and if you have a style preferencw ask if they have it.
