FH and I aren't considering this but I recently stumbled upon the idea with one of the most recent OffBeat Bride email newsletters. Thoughts? Concerns? Is this an option you would consider? Why or why not?

As someone who considered doing this, I wasn’t going to have a big ceremony. Just something where we wrote vows and said them to each other in a meaningful place with maybe our parents in attendance. As for my friend in PA, he’s going to do the big party later—I’m not sure of his intentions behind doing the marriage that way, but it’s kind of nice if you want a no frills quick and easy marriage ceremony or want to be legally wed but not do it in the courthouse. I don’t think they even said vows...but they did it their way.
